Nigel Vere Nicoll appointed to the Board 1996 ATTA Director & Company Secretary 1997 - Chief Executive : 2000- Fellow of The Royal Geographical Society (1972) As a former MD of Abercrombie and Kent's Hotel & Lodge Division in Kenya, CEO of Wild Africa Safaris UK ,Head of Marketing Mount Charlotte Thistle Hotels UK, MD of Universal Travel and On Safari, and proprietor of two hotels in Scotland he has extensive experience in hotel management, tour operating & marketing in UK and Africa. Nigel sits on the Foreign & Commonwealth Office Consular Stakeholder Panel and the Travel Advice Review Group (TARG) and is a member of the Tourism Emergency Response Network (TERN)working on crisis mangement in the tourism sector.

Lina joined ATTA in 2007 and was promoted to Marketing Manager in March 2008. Lina has recently completed a Masters Degree in Tourism Management.

Appointed 2008 Elected Chairman 2009 Simon has been involved with African Safaris since 1995. He moved from the UK to Uganda for 4 years, building and managing a lodge and guiding safaris around the country. In 2000 he returned to the UK to work for the Tour Operator, Tim Best Travel, selling safaris throughout Africa. In 2003 he returned to Africa on a solo expedition for 6 month retracing the explorer Henry Morton Stanley’s Trans Africa Expedition by bicycle and kayak. Simon is now the Managing Director of Milestones Marketing, a representation company promoting a portfolio of Africa’s top lodges, camps and ground handlers.

Appointed 1994 Chairman 2003/4 With strong Kenya connections Primrose Stobbs has been a director of Abercrombie & Kent since it was formed in U.K. She is Council Member of AMREF, Trustee of Friends of Conservation (FOC) and Nyumbani, and Vice-Chairman of the Kenya Society.

Appointed October 2000 Chairman 2007/8 Henry Hallward is MD of Safaribookers and previously led safaris in Zambia, Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe as MD of Tongabezi Expeditions. He is married with two children and now lives in England.

Appointed June 2003 MD of Pulse Africa, Sandy established the company in 1992. The company specialises in tailor made trips to many African countries and parts of the Indian Ocean. Being based in Africa, she is well positioned to represent the African members of ATTA.

Appointed 2004 Now Marketing Director of Tim Best Travel she has extensive experience and a broad knowledge of tourism in and to Africa. Before returning to the UK in 2003 she spent a number of years living and working in Africa, as a lodge operator with horse safaris, safari camps and lodges and marketing Uncharted Africa camps and mobile safaris to the UK, USA, Europe and Australia

Appointed October 2004 Chairman December 2005/6 Rupert Finch Hatton is the Marketing Director of Hoopoe Safaris and also Kirurumu Tented Camps & Lodges. He is based in the United Kingdom and looks after their marketing needs across Europe and North America.

Appointed October 2006 Anita is the Director of Small World Marketing, a representation company established in January 2006. Anita has worked 'on the ground' running luxury tented camps and lodges in Kenya; worked for Travel Africa magazine and spent 2 years as the UK sales and marketing manager for the Kenya Tourist Board before she set up Small World Marketing.

After training as an chartered accountant and a short stint in the City, Marc headed to Africa where his passion lay for a 2 year “walk about” in 1995. On his return to the UK in 1997 he founded Africa Archipelago. In the 2000 he spent a considerable length of time researching the new Cadogan guide to Tanzania, and in 2001 he set up a London based tour operator - Tanzania Odyssey. He has previously served as a director of ATTA and remains Managing Director of Tanzania Odyssey. He is married with 2 young children

Born in Kenya Andrew went to school in UK and university in USA. Having completed his Masters at the School of Hotel Management at Cornell University, he returned to Kenya to work in Diani, Mombasa where the family had been in the hotel business since 1969. He later moved to Zanzibar to develop Bluebay Beach Resort on the N. E. coast which he opened in December 1999. Today the group owns 2 other properties in Zanzibar, the all new Sultan Sands next door to Bluebay and Beyt al Chai a boutique hotel in the Stone Town. While living in Zanzibar together with others he started and served as the first Chairman of Zanzibar Association of Tourism Investors. He now lives back in Kenya and is married with two children.
