Job Description

Position: Hosted BuyerExecutive

Reporting to: Hosted Buyer Manager (UK) and GeneralManager(SA)

Department: Africa Travel Week -WTMA

Hosted Buyer Executive key responsibilities:

·         Developing and implementing a detailed research and recruitment plan based on the Hosted Buyer Programme recruitment strategy

·         Build and develop relationships with senior decision makers within the tourism industry to encourage commitment to the event

·         Research and build knowledge/data of the travel industry buyer population in key target markets

·         Undertake desk and telephone research with new and existing buyers

·         Liaison with third parties and industry experts to assist in recruiting hosted buyers

·         Recruitment management and qualification using a database (Certain) to monitor registrations and maintain an accurate database of industry contacts to provide reports and analyses

·         Liaise with the Hosted Buyer Manager regarding the generation of new business

·         Liaise with Marketing Manager regarding the building of the database of prospective hosted buyers

·         Work closely with the sales team to understand what buyers exhibitors are looking to meet with

·         Qualification – carefully reviewing each application submitted to guarantee top quality buyers

·         Logistics Management – flight, hotel, visa and transfer management

·         Appointment management – ensuring that buyers are selecting their required number of appointments

·         Reimbursement management – processing flight reimbursements

·         Providing regular reports and recruitment trackers

·         Provision of excellent customer service, using a proactive and creative approach

·         Administrative and event management duties to support the Hosted BuyerProgramme

Ideal candidate profile:

·       Extensive experience in a busy travel or event environment

·       Knowledge of and experience in the travel industry

·       Excellent interpersonal, written and face-to-face meeting skills

·       Ability to work calmly under pressure with great attention to detail

·       Excellent database/IT skills, especiallyExcel

·       Enthusiastic team player

·       Strong time management, multi-tasking and organisational skills

·       Creativity – developing and proposing solutions to queries

·       Ability to provide excellent customer service in a high volume environment

·       A flexible approach to working methods and hours of attendance

·       Willingness to travel
