Original Travel is excited to be recruiting a new Head of Sales for our Africa team, a position which offers excellent prospects in a rapidly growing, energetic and award winning London based tour operator.
We have always had a strong heritage in Africa and particularly so since acquiring Tim Best Travel in 2009. The position we are recruiting for is not a new position. Our current Head of Sales for Africa will be carrying on at Original Travel but is now physically located in South Africa. We feel that it is important that this position is held by someone in our London office who can provide immediate face to face guidance to both team members and clients alike.
Original Travel was launched in early 2003 and is one of the UK’s fastest growing bespoke travel companies. We send people to 87 countries worldwide, all of which we have personal experience of. We have grown by just under 100% since the recession started and have managed to do so without compromising our extremely high levels of personal service. This is borne out by the fact that 87% of our business is either repeat or referred.
The successful applicant will be part of a growing sales team dedicated to Africa. This position is a very hands-on role. The successful candidate will be passionate about Africa, be highly organised, driven, have considerable direct experience of travel to these regions, be experienced in managing teams, have an in-depth understanding of sales, be an excellent communicator, and clearly understand our customers’ needs.
We would also welcome applicants with passion for Africa with less experience as part of our Africa team growth phase.
Remuneration and its related package will include a competitive salary and a range of benefits befitting such a position. We are inviting applications both externally and also internally. Candidates need not be UK citizens.
