Ant's Nest and Ant's Hill
The Ant Collection is made up of Ant’s Nest and Ant’s Hill which are two private bush homes, both situated on a privately owned game reserve in the Waterberg region of the Limpopo Province, South Africa. Ant’s Hill can cater for up to 16 guests while Ant’s Nest hosts up to 12 guests. Both bush homes can be booked exclusively to one group at a time or just individual rooms. The Ant Collection specializes in superb game viewing either on horseback on a string of fit, responsive horses, conventional 4 X 4 game drives, mountain bikes or getting close up on foot. Flexibility is what we pride ourselves for in tailor making guests stay with us. Suitable for families, riders, honeymooners or just good friends traveling together.

The Fold exists to provide refuge to children in need, by investing love. The plight of the young and defenseless has always been close to our heart. Our primary vision is to assist children, who have been ravaged by the loss of family, poverty, disease and abuse.
The Fold is a place of love and refuge for orphaned children who have no other family to take care of them. We are located on a farm outside of Vaalwater, South Africa. We have family style living with local parents and will have up to 8 children in each home. Eight homes are planned, the first home is up and running. The children will be taught English, but the children will also speak an African language. The children will all learn basic skills such as cooking, cleaning, sewing, gardening, taking care of animals. School will be up to grade 12, with the possibility of university based on each child’s ability, or vocational training. We will help these children to identify and pursue their dreams. We want to offer Sports/agriculture/animal husbandry/computer skills, etc. Our goal is to invest in the lives of these children for the long term benefit of themselves, their village and South Africa.
The aim is to create a loving and secure environment filled with an atmosphere of contagious joy and promoting a good moral character.
We are a husband and wife team from the farming community surrounding Vaalwater who became aware of the plight of thousands affected by poverty, high unemployment, malnutrition and disease. We started a Non Profit Organisation with a view to making a difference through our ministry based on solid Christian principles. Our focus is helping the many vulnerable people especially children and the elderly.
Vaalwater is situated on the central plateau of the Waterberg Mountains within the Limpopo Province of South Africa. We are 3 hours drive north of Johannesburg. The adjacent residential suburb of Leseding is a large and extremely impoverished community.
We support hundreds of families, visiting with them in their homes providing food, medical care and helping to get children into schools.
One of our main focuses is looking after the many widows and orphans that have been left by the terrible Aids Crisis in Vaalwater. There are a large number of women, many of whom are elderly, who have been left to look after small children and teenagers. A large percentage of mothers in the 20 to 45 year old age group have died. We also find many children raising siblings or cousins. Due to the high rate of unemployment and poverty, these people have little to no income. In many of these cases we find the young “parents” begging for food from neighbours. In some cases we are able to help the youngsters get registered to qualify them for the government grant, but even then the income is seldom sufficient to feed a family of between 6 to 12 people. We provide these families with food parcels. Education is key for us, we currently fund 8 college students and have provided education for many children each year. It costs us R400 to educate a school child per year. The cost of putting a student through college is R15 000 –R38 000 per year.
We rely on donations from the general public, businesses and the commercial sector. It costs us R20 per day to feed a child. We receive food donations from the general public. We receive generous support from Ants Nest/Hill and their guests. These kind of donations are such a blessing to us.
