Charities we are proud to support:
The Down Syndrome Inclusive Education Foundation (DSIEF) The Down Syndrome Inclusive Education Foundation (DSIEF)

A charity close to the heart of Atta Southern African Director Ingram Casey who has a young daughter with Down Syndrome. DSIEF offers the best possible start in life for young children with Down Syndrome. The Foundation is a truly innovative education programme. It was founded by a passionate group of skilled professionals that are parents of children with Down Syndrome. The Foundation strives to be at the forefront of international developmental and educational support for children with Down Syndrome in the Western Cape and, in the future, South Africa. In February 2011, the Foundation partnered with Noah’s Ark Pre-School to pilot the “Early Impact” programme, modelling international best practice with a 70/30 mainstream/specialised mix education plan integrating children with Down Syndrome in a normal school setting. It is a first of its kind in South Africa. In 2012, the programme was successfully extended to 3 pre-school classes from 3 to 6 years of age. In 2014, the Early Impact programme plans to be extended to primary school classes. The Foundation also offers support and counselling to parents of children with Down Syndrome and runs workshops and seminars for parents, educators and other professionals. There is no other support being provided at this level in the Western Cape. DSIEF is breaking new ground in South Africa and, in the process, shattering many pre-conceived ideas about the abilities of people with Down Syndrome.
