Charities we are proud to support:
Anan Clinica Anan Clinica

Anan Clinica Foundation, founded in 2009, is a non-religious charity that aims to increase the scope, quality, accessibility, acceptability and coverage of high-impact primary health care services for the underserved people of the Nanatha community. We want to achieve this through sustainable methods and specifically avoiding a donor-dependent environment. Nanatha is a community with 1.400 inhabitants in rural North-Mozambique. The people of Nanatha set up Anan (Assoção dos Naturais e Amigos de Nanatha) because the community felt they were facing major problems, suffering from poverty and diseases without having the ability to fight against it. Anan Clinica is a subsidiary of Anan and fully dedicated to the community of Nanatha. Anan Clinica is focussing on increasing the local knowledge on healthcare related topics (e.g. knowledge of hygiene and sanitation practices) and the provision of basic healthcare in local communities. We work with volunteer placements (3-6 months) who cooperate with the community.

Our Commitment to Responsible Tourism

Nuarro works closely with the local community. This ensures that local people benefit from the growth of responsible tourism at Nuarro. This is achieved directly through donations and indirectly through the creation of jobs for the local population. From each overnight stay, $5 is donated to the local community and $2 from each activity. Several projects were funded from these donations including the building of a community centre and medical post and various projects in the field of medical care, hygiene and agriculture are being developed. Apart from donations Nuarro has a significant impact on the development of the local economy. Nuarro employs a total of 80 local people and approximately 1000 family members depend on that income.
