African Explorations

African Explorations has been creating extraordinary, bespoke safaris and holidays since 1988. Almost all of us originate from Africa and India – these continents are our passion! Our exceptional level of knowledge combined with the highest degree of personal service ensures that our clients receive the holiday of a lifetime. Just as the perfect suit is painstakingly tailored to fit you, so are our holidays. We understand that every person is an individual and no two holidays can be the same. We cover a wide brief: whether it is a first time safari to Africa, a focused special interest holiday where one may be searching for a particular species, a personally guided safari with one of Africa’s finest guides or a family holiday (which is our speciality!). In Africa, our clients may wish to view wildlife, focus on culture, ride horses, camels, walk or become expert photographers. Canoeing, fishing, trekking, cycling, watersports and simply relaxing on superb beaches are other favourite activities. Whatever the focus, we use only the most appropriate locations, lodges, properties and camps. This might range from the highly luxurious to more down-to-earth, with camps being either permanent or a private luxury mobile erected purely for your party. North Africa is, naturally, rather different but our vision remains exactly the same: to create the perfect holiday for you.

Charities we are proud to support:
Remot Primary School Remot Primary School

Remot primary school was established in 2007 as a preschool on the north western boundary of the Westgate Community Conservancy, near Samburu, Kenya, to provide education for families which are not in the catchment for existing schools. The school was recently upgraded to a full primary school with two classrooms but, part form school development per se, one of the core aims is to help the families in the Westgate Community who live further away and have to date not received the same benefits as those who live closer by. Our support assists a long term development plan for the school which now has an enrolment of 141 pupils.

Excellent Development Excellent Development

Excellent Development supports subsistence farmers and their families to gain access to clean water and grow more food to eat, store and sell. The charity primarily supports and assists communities to build sand dams, based on an ancient core technology that provides clean water and the potential to invest time in sustainable agriculture. Sand dams can be built anywhere there are seasonal rivers with sandy sediment – conditions that are found across the world’s drylands. However there are currently less than 150 sand dams being built every year worldwide and Excellent’s mission is to change this, working in Sudan, Kenya and Mozambique.
