Explorers Club, Franschhoek
Explorers Club is a small and unique collection of stylish self-catering places to stay in Franschhoek and Prince Albert, in the Western Cape region of South Africa.
It includes four unusual houses in Franschhoek, the 'Gourmet Capital of South Africa'; a bustling village of historical interest, surrounded by towering mountains, with a rich wine-producing heritage, just an hour from Cape Town. From time to time we run one-off cookery classes with visiting celebrity chefs and host interesting lectures on adventurous topics at the various venues.
We also have accommodation in the quirky settlement of Prince Albert, the gateway to the Great Karoo; a delightful historic Victorian village situated at the foot of the Swartberg Mountain range, four hours drive from Cape Town.
i-escape.com quotes Explorers as ' quirky, unusual, fresh and unlike anything we have seen before'.
