Migration Update - 14th July 2006

The Migration has now definitely moved on to the more rewarding pastures of the northern Serengeti. There are some tail-enders still in the Western corridor, and the good resident game is much in evidence, but the main bulk of the wildies have left as the water & fodder which support them is no longer sufficient. The seasonal Grumeti River dried out to pools quickly this year, and the annual fires, some precautionary burns and some poachers fires gone out of control, have reduced the amount of grass available to sustain the large herds.

However, they are still spread out and we have received good game viewing reports from all areas of the northern Serengeti eco system.
