ATTA® invites you to Destination Readiness Webinar (unpacking Kenya's health and safe protocols for tourism sector) .This is the third in a series of webinars with the Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) scheduled to be held over the next few months.  

The Magical Kenya Tourism and Safety protocols were launched to ensure destination preparedness in readiness of tourism resumption. In recognition of the destinations adoption of the global health and hygiene standards across tourism and sector related facilities, Kenya was awarded the World Travel and Tourism Council  (WTTC) "Safe Travel Stamp". 

This session will be aimed at sensitizing the international trade on the steps Kenya has taken to ensure destination preparedness as travel resumes. 

KTB in collaboration with the Kenya Association of Hotel Keepers and caterers (KAHC) will make the presentation.

Mr. Mike Macharia is the Chief Executive Officer of Kenya Association of Hotelkeepers and Caterers  (KAHC) a notable organisation in the Tourism hospitality Industry founded in 1944, KAHC is the principal umbrella organization bringing together hotels, lodges, restaurants, membership clubs and prominent airline caterers whose common theme is to render services in the hospitality industry.

Mike has a vast experience and expertise in the tourism and hospitality industry having held various managerial and board positions including Kenya Tourism federation, National Tourism Crisis Response Team, East Africa Tourism Platform, National labour board and many more.  He also holds a bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, post graduate diploma in Marketing and currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Law.

Mike is also one of the 17 -member task-force appointed to establish guidelines in response to COVID- 19 and the common protocols plus the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) which were launched in June 2020.
