RDB confirm gorilla permits will increase to $750

After reports earlier this week that the Rwanda Development Board were planning to increase the price of gorilla tracking permits to $750 (from $500) for tracking after 1st June 2012, they have now confirmed they will definitely go ahead with this scheme.

Permits for tracking after 1st June will now cost $750. The full details of deposit totals and balance payment deadlines have yet to be released, and are expected to be confirmed by the RDB on Monday 30th January.

If tour operators have already paid the deposit on permits for tracking after 1st June, they can avoid the increase by 'topping up' before 15th March 2012. The Far Horizons will be doing so for any of its clients who have safaris booked beyond 1st June in Rwanda. More information in the full story on our website.
