Geocaching added to The Wetland Park Group’s extensive list of experiential activities
What do Shadow of the Rhino, Catch a Kwagga, Rocky Horror and Sitting Monk all have in common? They’re the names of just four of the 1534 geocaching sites to be found across KwaZulu-Natal. Albizia Camp - The Wetland Park Group’s student division - have introduced geocaching to their extensive list of experiential activities. These secret geocache locations are found using GPS co-ordinates, cryptic clues and powers of observation. Family oriented geocaching adventures are also doable from Umkhumbi Lodge. If you've not yet heard of this fast-growing high-tech outdoor treasure-hunt game, read the 101 on geocaching.com. There are in excess of 2 million geocache sites worldwide, 8657 of these across South Africa. From the northernmost cache site at Kosi Bay, extreme sites high up in the Drakensberg to city locations, Geocaching draws travellers to see the ordinary in a new light and to explore less visited destinations.
