New Developments at Tortilis Camp
TORTILIS CAMP
The C&P Portfolio's Tortilis Camp, at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro, has been a hive of activity. A second new swimming pool - complete with its own private lounge area, sunbeds, poolside changing rooms and bar - was openend on 20 December 2013 for the exclusive use of those staying in the Family Tent and Private House.
The Private House, ideal for families, has also been redeveloped, now featuring larger windows that take in the enviable views of the mighty Mount Kilimanjaro, an extended roof and stunning new furnishings.
Tortilis Camp was Kenya’s first ‘boutique eco-lodge’ when it opened in 1994, wining a number of prestigious awards for its eco offering. Almost twenty years on and the camp is still setting the standard and, by February 2014, Tortilis Camp will be 100% solar powered - the first off-grid tourism property of its size to do so. An impressive feat!
