Tourism & Arts Minister Launches ZITE 2014 & Lusaka CarnivalBy Zambia Tourism Board
On 20 February Minister of Tourism & Arts Hon. S Masebo launched and endorsed the Zambia International Travel Expo (ZITE) & Lusaka Carnival due to take place 25 – 27 April, at Mulungushi International Conference Centre (MICC) under the theme “Tourism Begins Here – At Home”. The purpose of the launch is to ensure that before the events take place, we have engaged everyone to come and exhibit, speak and add value to Zambia’s ever growing tourism sector.
ZITE & Lusaka Carnival organisers Africast Ltd and Zambia Tourism Board (ZTB) also attended Meetings Africa in Sandton – Johannesburg in preparation of their own travel expo and carniva. Despite the theme which is this year targeted at domestic market, they are also expecting 50 regional and international quality buyers. Meetings Africa is yet another important pre ZITE activity to recruit buyers and meet potential exhibitors from the region. Zambia stand at Meetings Africa was very busy with ZITE buyer and exhibitor requests – a lot of whom we look forward to welcoming to ZITE 2014.

ZITE & Lusaka Carnival organisers Africast Ltd are this year reintroducing the coveted AFRICAST TOURISM JOURNALIST OF THE YEAR AWARD who will be announced on 26th April 2014, during the official opening of the travel expo and carnival by Hon.
