New swimming pool at Cheli & Peacock’s Tortilis Camp
By Cheli & Peacock Safaris (DMC)Cheli & Peacock’s Tortilis Camp, at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro in Amboseli has a brand new (second) swimming pool. This new pool – complete with its own private lounge area and sunbeds – is exclusively for those staying in the Family Tent and Private House.
Known as ‘Little Tortilis’, the Private House and Family Tent are located at the top of the hill, away from the rest of the camp – with spectacular views of the mighty Mount Kilimanjaro.
Tortilis Camp was Kenya’s first ‘boutique eco-lodge’ when it opened in 1994, wining a number of prestigious awards for its eco offering. Twenty years on and the camp is still setting the standard – it is the first camp of a substantial size in Kenya - if not all of Africa - to operate 100% on solar power, 24 hours/day.
