The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) have advised against all but essential travel to Mombasa and Malindi*.

Passengers who hold tickets to/from Mombasa (MBA) and Malindi (MYD) which were issued before or on 27th March 2015 may be offered the following options.

KQ Re-booking:

1. Re-booking is permitted to alternative dates of travel within the same cabin of travel i.e. re-book in the ticketed class and if not available, the lowest class in the same cabin. Where lower classes are available to book there will be no refund due on the fare difference. This also applies to passengers who are there and would like to return earlier than planned.
2. Any fare difference due to change of season (i.e. moving to high season) must be collected on the reissued ticket.
3. Re-booking/Reissue must be completed by close of business on 15th April 2015
4. All reissued Tickets must have “RKBD DUE FCO ADV-MBA & MYD ” in the endorsement box
5. All penalties / change fees may be waived.

Change of Routing / Destination

1. Passengers may use the full value of their existing tickets towards the purchase of new tickets at the same or a higher KQ/KL fare. Higher fares will require collection of the fare difference on the reissued ticket. Where lower fares are available to book there will be no refund due on the fare difference.
2. Exception: passengers flying to MBA and MYD who wish to re-route to NBO instead may do so without additional cost, provided same booking class and season.
3. Re-booking/Reissue must be completed by close of business on 15th April 2015
4. All penalties / change fees may be waived.

Cancellations and Refunds:

1. Full refund on wholly unused tickets is permitted.
2. Travel Agents can process refunds for fully unused tickets directly through their GDS and must insert the following in the remarks column “FULL RFND DUE FCO ADV-MBA & MYD”. All refunds must be processed by close of business on 15th April 2015
