Take on Just A Drop’s Summer Six Steps Challenge!

Women and children in Africa and Asia spend an estimated 200 million hours each day collecting water. They often walk an average of 6km, in the searing heat, hauling heavy water which can weigh up to 25kg. The water they are rewarded with may be filthy and cause life threatening illnesses.

Water is often carried on the heads of women and children and naturally, with such a scarce resource, it is vital not to spill a drop.

This summer, as part of its Mums Army campaign, Just a Drop is launching the 6 Steps Challenge. The idea, started by our Founder Fiona Jeffery, is to film yourself walking 6 steps, balancing a cup of water on your head (without spilling a single drop), and then posting your film on Facebook. Watch Fiona attempt the challenge here!

A cup of water, a helper to film you and about 10 minutes to give our challenge a go, say why it is important and nominate three friends to do the same! Then post your film to Facebook and make sure you use the hashtag #6STEPS in your post so that everyone will know you’re supporting us!

Finish with the texting details: Please text STEPS £3 to 70660 to donate just £3 to Just a Drop.*

Thank you and good luck!
