Uganda holds exhibition at the UN as Hon Kutesa Hands Over Presidency
By Uganda Tourism BoardUganda is putting on an exhibition at the United Nations headquarters in New York from 9-11 September. Hon. Sam Kutesa is ending his service as President of the UN General Assembly and the exhibition is one of the events he is holding to mark his Uganda’s presidency at the UN. This period, with its respective celebrations, allows Uganda another unbelievable opportunity to showcase its unique selling propositions to both new and familiar audiences.
The exhibition will feature what Uganda has to offer the world. Later, the Hon Sam Kuteesa and Dr Maria Mutagamba, the Minister of Tourism, Wildlife & Antiquities, will host a cocktail for the General Assembly members.
Beyond the exhibition and cocktail, Uganda will hold business to business meetings including those interested in tourism. Uganda Tourism Board(UTB)has registered 10 tour operators to engage travel wholesalers in the US. These will look for opportunities to market not only Uganda but the East Africa region.
Before the UN Exhibition, the Uganda Tourism Board will present at the Uganda North America Association conference on 4th Sept, 2015. Mr. Stephen Asiimwe, the Chief Executive Officer at UTB will be presenting on tourism under the theme “Opportunities in Trade, Tourism and Investment partnership between United States and Uganda.
