Pope Francis in Kenya at start of Africa Tour
By Kenya Tourism BoardPope Francis has arrived in Kenya for a three-nation African tour, his first to the continent as pontiff. He is also due to visit Uganda and Central African Republic. During the tour, Pope Francis will be meeting with President Kenyatta, and holding a mass on Thursday at the University of Nairobi sports ground. Thursday 26th November has been announced as a National Holiday in Kenya, and a crowd of one million are expected to attend. Speaking ahead of his trip, Pope Francis announced that he wanted to offer spiritual and material support “ I go with joy to meet Kenyans, Ugandans and our brothers in Central Africa”.
