A marketing tip from Africa Geographic: Video is a vital marketing tool

TIP: Brands wanting to stand out on social media should be investing in video. Recent stats show that video is becoming a major focus for internet and social media giants and companies that embrace video are finding it easier to connect with consumers, engage with them and convert them into paying customers.

More about why you should be using video as a marketing tool:

According to Syndacast, 74% of all internet traffic in 2017 will be video and using the word “video” in an email subject line boosts open rates by 19%, click-through rates by 65% and reduces unsubscribes by 26%. According to Twitter, videos and photos get the most retweets while Facebook has seen more than double the amount of views on videos per day over the last few months.

Facebook is also playing around with a number of new video features including auto play videos in news feeds, dedicated video feed streams and the recent announcement of 360 photos which are similar to 360 videos, offering a fully immersive experience.

There’s no shortage of content out there and visual content is one way to stand out and create an impact. Users are more likely to share video than other forms of content and it is a great tool to showcase your business, expertise, products and services and get people excited, engaged and ultimately travelling!
