Sanctuary Sussi & Chuma remodelled

An inspired redesign elevates our Zambian safari experiences, enhances the riverside viewing and amplifies the call of the wild.

In April 2018, this boutique riverside retreat will reopen with an enlightened take on sophisticated safari life. Sanctuary Sussi & Chuma is in the heart of the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, and all 12 treehouses set amid jackalberry trees have been restyled, and to maximise the magic of staying right here at the edge of a dramatic bend in the Zambezi there are also new lounges and decking added as communal spaces.

Added privacy

Follow the high-up wooden walkways that link the treehouses and discover that the flow of the bedrooms has been made breezier through a gentle remodelling. Every Sussi treehouse still has a riverfront terrace, freestanding bath and five-star creature comforts such as overnight laundering and a fully stocked minibar, and now they have gym bags, more even graceful interiors, and better ensuite privacy.

More sociable

There are new intimate spaces at the lodge for drinking and dining which strengthen Sanctuary Sussi & Chuma’s connection with nature, whether you’re inside or out. The new outdoor bar overlooks the Zambezi River, offering guests the best view in the house - especially soul-stirring at sunset. The extended outdoor decking area also includes a remodelled boma fire pit and dining area.
