Botswana: Complete $6.5mil rebuild of Belmond Savute Elephant Lodge
By Sean Clark, BelmondDecember 2017 – Belmond announces their continued investment in their safari lodges in Botswana with a US $6,5 million total rebuild of Belmond Savute Elephant Lodge. The lodge will re-open on 1st June 2018 following a completely new design of the public areas and guest rooms, as well as staff accommodation. The rebuild will be guided by the best sustainable building practices and an exemplary eco-friendly lodge will be created.
The new lodge will boast a luxurious spa, inter-connecting family rooms, a wildlife-viewing hide where animals come to slake their thirst and a fire-pit with a view over the famous Savute Channel. Belmond Savute Elephant Lodge is strategically located in the even more remote Savute region of Northern Botswana, where National Geographic Wild filmed their award-winning Savage Kingdom series last year.
