The Greatest Maasai Mara Photographer of the Year
By Umbraco.Web.PublishedCache.MemberPublishedContentThe Angama Foundation is proud to announce the launch of an exciting photographic competition, The Greatest Maasai Mara Photographer of the Year.
The competition offers photographers of all skills a chance of winning a $10,000 cash prize as well as a 5-night safari for two at Angama Mara (including return flights from Nairobi and a private safari vehicle). The guide of the winning photographer will win a soft-top Suzuki Maruti Gypsy.
Entry fees of $20 per image, which must be taken within one year before submission, will be fully donated to their choice of a conservation partner: The Mara Elephant Project; The Maa Trust; The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust; The Mara Conservancy; The Anne K. Taylor Fund. Should photographers enter using the Kenyan mobile banking system Mpesa, entry fees will be Ksh.1,000.
The competition will run annually from 1 January – 31 October, starting in 2018, and acclaimed wildlife photographers Art Wolfe, Federico Veronesi and Adam Bannister will judge entries monthly. The grand prize, announced before the end of 2018, will go to one of the 10 monthly winners.
The focus of the competition is to profile the Mara Triangle as a 12-month wildlife destination through beautiful imagery, and to positively impact local projects through entry fees.
