Saruni Rhino Grows - New Family Unit & Swimming Pool

Saruni Rhino-Generic.png

Less than a year after its opening, Saruni Rhino in Northern Kenya grows its capacity to keep up with demand. The property is the first in East Africa to offer the experience of on-foot professional tracking of black rhinos, and is located on the edge of a doum palm-lined, dry river bed in Sera Community Conservancy, Samburuland. With its newly inaugurated 3rd banda (stone cottage) it can now accommodate 8 guests. http://www.saruinrhinotracking.com

‘Family Banda 3’ is composed of 2 x double bedrooms both with en-suite bathrooms, flushing toilets and natural stone showers. A shared lounge provides a cool retreat from the large verandah which also has outside seating & tables and the best view of the waterhole and the many elephants that visit it every day. The banda was built from local stone and has a traditional thatched roof.

A beautiful infinity swimming pool has also been built, in harmony with the natural beauty of the surrounding landscape. Guests can enjoy a few laps in the curved, kidney-shaped pool, whilst admiring the beach-club feel of the sandy, dry river bed and swaying palms, along-side.

Daily on-foot black rhino tracking sessions take place early morning (from 5:30am) OR in the afternoon (from 4:00pm). Maximum size for tracking sessions is 6-8 persons, over the age of 16 years old for security reasons.

The official high-resolution images of the 3rd ‘banda’ will be available at the end of January and will be circulated accordingly. For reservations and enquiries, please email [email protected], or schedule a meeting with Riccardo at ITB Berlin in March (7th-9th) – emailing [email protected] for an appointment.
