Nomad Tanzania Camps Updates

CS-220518-nomad-068.jpg

Our Ops team have been a busy bunch this closed season. We've now unzipped the tents, rolled back the canvas and poured the first gin and tonics. The new season is well underway, and we're as chuffed as a honey badger in a camp kitchen to be home.

A few key camp and general updates we wanted to share...

FOOD

We've had the wonderful Nat Harrison in our camps training our camp chefs and updating our menus. Nomad safaris just got more delicious.

GUIDE TRAINING

Our guides have had extensive training which included specialist modules on astronomy, birding and insects. They also went through extensive rifle and walking training and met our Nomad Trust partners.

NO PLASTIC NOMAD

We are on a mission to be rid of single use plastic in our camps. We have replaced plastic water bottles with recycled wine bottles, and have installed a reverse osmosis water filtration system in Lamai.

NORTHERN TANZANIA

SERENGETI SAFARI CAMP

New Look - our pioneering migration chasing mobile has fresh interiors. A lighter look that's getting glowing reviews. New images coming soon.

KURO TARANGIRE

We've added a little extension to the mess area to give us more space, we've also extended the front veranda and laid a stone floor on that section. Our mess loo is now no longer eco flush, but proper flush. All decks have been repaired.

ENTAMANU NGORONGORO

Floors throughout camp have been repainted and we've worked hard to further reinforce the canvas during the windy season (from June - September) to minimise any disturbance and this has worked wonders.

LAMAI SERENGETI & MKOMBE'S HOUSE

We've put new decking throughout both properties. Lamai now has a new sala area at the pool, and all the swimming pools have been fully refurbished.

SOUTHERN TANZANIA

KIGELIA RUAHA

Bathroom basins now have running water and the second mini-mess area on the river bank has had a softs uplift and is looking just lovely.

SAND RIVERS SELOUS

We have new decking throughout and all the bathrooms have been refreshed.

WESTERN TANZANIA

CHADA KATAVI

The decking has been replaced where it was needed, and we've done some soft furnishing updates. Most importantly, we've redesigned our monkey-proof tea boxes for wake up calls and are pleased to report we have them foxed again.

GREYSTOKE MAHALE

We've done a full soft furnishing update with a lighter, fresher look in the main areas and rooms. We think it complements that gin clear turquoise lake perfectly.

Any questions please give us a shout.
