Wami River Bush Retreat (Kisampa) Anti- Poaching Project
By Umbraco.Web.PublishedCache.MemberPublishedContentWami River Bush Retreat also know as Kisampa is 140,000 acre private conservation sanctuary on the south western border of Saadani National Park and in the month of August while on a walk about over 30 snares were pulled up on various boundaries. These snares are set by the locals killing the game for food. Kisampa charges a community levy to help fund the local villages and to discourage cattle grazing in the conservancy area. This we hope will also help discourage the setting of snares on the property. Over the passed few years Kisampa has seen an increase in game returning to the area. With a large herd of elephant and buffalo been regularly seen visiting the waterhole in front of the camp.
