Zara Tanzania Adventures Takes Responsibility for Porters Health on Mt. Kilimanjaro

It is almost impossible to summit the roof of Africa without the support of Porters; they are literally the backbone of the trekking world. Everything you see in the mountains that nature didn't put there – a porter did. For trekkers, the trail can be hard, the air thin, and the gear REALLY heavy. Porters spend their lives carrying loads in the mountains. They are just there to make sure everything a trekker will need is where they will need it, when they will need it. In April 2018 Zara Tanzania Adventurers Covered 1,200 Porters with Health Insurance, becoming the first tour company in Tanzania to cover mass low-income earner mountain crew with health insurance.
