Six Wilderness Safaris guests have a life-changing opportunity to join a Children in the Wilderness (CITW) ‘Travel with Purpose’ journey and be part of an annual CITW Eco-Club camp in Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe. All proceeds from the trip will be channelled directly to CITW with no profit accruing to Wilderness Safaris, making each of the participants a contributor to the ongoing sustainability of the programme.

“We would like the participants to have a hands-on experience of a CITW camp with the children, so they can see for themselves its contribution to our vision of facilitating sustainable conservation through leadership development and environmental education. It’s an opportunity for our guests to connect and learn about how our children in remote areas live, and through their exposure gain invaluable insight into the importance of the CITW programme”, said Ron Goatley, Wilderness Safaris Zambezi MD.

The four-day trip, from 2 to 5 December 2019, will give each guest an opportunity to become an Activity Leader at the camp with the highly experienced and energetic CITW Zambezi Programme initiator, Sue Goatley. Passionate about children and environmental conservation, Sue left her successful 25-year primary school teaching career to spearhead the groundbreaking programme in Zimbabwe, which led to the beginning of a number of local empowerment programmes that now provide income to many households.
