Zambezi Cruise & Safaris Responds to Mana Pools Feed Crisis
By *Byran Rocher, Zambezi Cruise SafarisZambezi Cruise & Safaris is pleased to announce completion of a successful operation to cut and bale 5500 bales of grass at Kariba Airport as a first phase of the 30,000 bales we plan to donate. We are currently transporting this to Mana Pools National Park from where it will be distributed as part of a supplementary feeding programme by Mana Stakeholders. Low levels of rainfall have created an acute shortage of fodder in the Park and Zambezi Cruise & Safaris will be monitoring the future situation and rendering as much ongoing help as possible.
The desperate plight of many of the animals is evidenced in the accompanying image showing the damage caused to a building in the Park by ravenous Buffalo and Elephants.
