Victoria Falls Throughout the Year
While the thunderous temper of the Victoria Falls has been somewhat restrained in the absence of rain, weather experts report that we will soon see the waterfall in her full splendour. The water level is currently 11cm below average over the past ten years. However, it is 3cm higher than the lowest level recorded in 1995, and it is unlikely to reach 1995 lows. Over the past ten years, the river reaches its lowest level around the 15th of November, and then begins to rise again.

KanangaWe are proud to announce that as from December of last year, we have been diligently phasing out plastic bottles in our camp, well ahead of the new legislation banning plastic bottles in National Parks that will come into play in June 2020. We now have 20-litre water dispensers available in the mess tents and have replaced plastic water bottles in the rooms with ecofriendly re-fillable water bottles in our efforts to contribute in a small way to the climate change issues our world is facing.

Healthy black rhino calf born in the Sera Rhino Sanctuary
SaruniExcited to announce the birth of a healthy black rhino calf in the first and only community-run black rhino sanctuary in East Africa. Nariku Sera, a nine-year-old female black rhino, was transferred from Lewa Wildlife Conservancy to Sera Rhino Sanctuary in 2015. The calf, who is yet to be named or sexed, was born on the 8th of October 2019, bringing the total population of the Sanctuary to 16. More information and pictures to follow on social media.

KQ introduces new Economy Class seat product for its long haul routes
Kenya Airways (KQ) has introduced a seat product - Economy Comfort, which is set to enhance customer comfort and experience. Economy Comfort features increased seat pitch of 8cm more than the average Economy Class seats. Africa Albida TourismNearly US$18,000 has been raised to combat poaching in Zimbabwe’s top tourist destination of Victoria Falls by an annual fundraising golf tournament, coordinated, hosted and sponsored by hospitality group Africa Albida Tourism. A total of US$17, 852 was raised at the 19th annual Victoria Falls Anti-Poaching Unit (VFAPU) Golf Day at Borrowdale Brooke Golf Club on September 20, where 136 players, making up 34 teams, teed off for the charitable cause playing a 4 Ball Alliance format.
