Nungwi Dreams by Mantis – Phase 2 under construction
Nungwi Dreams by Mantis is pleased to reveal the news of their second phase of development, adding a total of 2 800m2 to the resort.
Nungwi Dreams by Mantis is on the northern tip of Nungwi, the most sought after region on the island of Zanzibar. Referred to as The Spice Island, Zanzibar is an archipelago approximately 46 kilometres off the coast of Tanzania. Guests arrive by flight directly to Zanzibar, with Nungwi Dreams an hour’s drive from the airport.
Created to give guests a base from which to explore the many gems of Zanzibar. Nungwi Dreams offers luxury accommodation alongside a pristine beachfront with room options that are flexible enough to allow for a tailor-made stay for couples, families and groups alike. A fully-serviced luxury hotel and restaurant which is bookable on a bed & breakfast, full board or all-inclusive basis – giving guests the freedom to experience and savour the essence of Zanzibar.
Combining modern architecture with subtle Swahili influences, and an ambience of relaxed sophistication, this luxury hotel features a restaurant, roof-top bar and rim-flow pool overlooking the beach, which complement the luxurious suites and villas on offer.
In addition to the current offering of 22 units, phase 2 of the development will consist of 24 brand new guest rooms; 6 of which are 46sqm, Ocean Front rooms (just 20 meters from the breaking waves). The remaining rooms consists of 7 seaview rooms and 11 standard rooms of 40sqm each, 8 of which have interleading doors which allow for 4 family units.
For the existing hotel, the Beach Villa has been divided into 6 single Ocean Front rooms and an additional 8 single rooms have been added on the original guest blocks. Once the phase 2 of development is completed, the room count for Nungwi Dreams will increase to a total of 57 single rooms and 1 4-bedroomed, primely positioned, Presidential Villa.
Guest facilities will also be expanded to include a second infinity pool of 165sqm. Surrounding this is a 700sqm multi-functional entertainment area, incorporating a new poolside bar and outside dining area with seating for up to 80 guests. The main restaurant will be extended to include an additional 116sqm of seating and a new purpose built buffet area. A brand new, state of the art kitchen is being built to service the increased numbers of guests. Also near completion is the146sqm spa facility with 3 treatment rooms, and the extension of the Terrace Bar with a new bar area and extra seating. The perfect spot to enjoy a spectacular Zanzibari sunset.
Development is set to be completed by the end of Q2 of 2021. We look forward to welcoming guests to the upgraded hotel by mid-December 2020, with all major and civil works being completed to ensure our guests experience won’t be impacted.
