Lemala Wildwaters Lodge in Uganda Reopens!

The whole team at Lemala Wildwaters Lodge were beyond excited to have reopened their island home last week, and can guarantee that the wait has been well and truly worth it! The entire restaurant and bar area has been redesigned, raised and rebuilt, and we can assure you that those iconic views onto the rapids of the famous River Nile still remain.

Lemala Wildwaters Lodge is nestled in a luxuriant rainforest on its own private island, mid-stream in the mighty Nile. Ten traditionally thatched rooms, each boasting private decks with elegant free-standing baths have been placed on the periphery of the thick riverine forest that naturally covers the island - giving breathtaking views of the surrounding rapids. Elevated wooden walkways gracefully link the rooms to the restaurant and bar area, and offer an unforgettable walk through the heart of the forest. You can relax in comfort on this island paradise, listening to the thunder of the Nile rapids, and the calls of the many species of bird who call the island home.

Uganda is open to travel, with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in the USA issuing a Level 1 Travel Health Notice for the country - the lowest level possible. For those who are looking forward to gorilla trekking, we can confirm permits are also available for a very affordable rate.

We are so glad to have guests back on the island again!
