Mahlatini Luxury Travel is pleased to announce the appointment of Vanessa Dean as its new Product Manager, aligned to ambitions to expand its portfolio in other African destinations, and beyond. Following its brand footprint in extraordinary, sustainable travel,  Mahlatini continues to build on its vision to take guests to some of the world’s most awe-inspiring natural places, where wildlife lives in harmony with unique cultures.

With an impressive career spanning over 25 years in the travel industry, Vanessa has worked in senior roles for Cox & Kings, Carrier and most recently Lusso, where she led their product and commercial strategy. As well as bringing new sub-Sahara African products and guest experiences to the market, Vanessa will draw on her expansive travel experiences in the development of destinations in wider geographies to offer more choice in response to demand from Mahlatini’s loyal client base.

Vanessa is relishing her new career chapter, commenting:

“I am delighted to be joining such a well-known and respected brand.  I've been hugely impressed by how Mahlatini has weathered the pandemic crisis. It is such an exciting time to be joining in their milestone year as they celebrate their 20th anniversary and as the travel industry sees a positive rebound.

Whilst Africa has always been my main love, I’ve been lucky enough to travel extensively around Europe; much of Asia including India, Japan and South East Asia, the Middle East; as well as North and South America…with still plenty more on the wish list.”

Vanessa joins the team in April and will work from both the Cape Town and UK offices. She will be attending ‘We Are Africa’ trade show in mid-May where she looks forward to making new connections as well as reconnecting with many industry friends and colleagues.

In response to the eased travel restrictions and further investment in their progressive business strategy, Mahlatini continues to expand its sales operation with the appointment of Monica Havemman who will join as a Travel Expert in the South Africa office in May.

If you are looking to join the best in the business, applications from seasoned Travel Experts are always welcome here or via [email protected].
