The official state visit between Rwanda and Zambia took place in Livingstone this week.

The Zambian President, Hakainde Hichilema, and the Rwandan President, Paul Kagame, met to witness the signing of several agreements promoting trade between the two countries. The agreements include migration, agriculture, investment and trade, with the intention of spurring job creation and business opportunities for both countries, as well as promoting tourism in the region.

After the signing of the documents, the Presidential parties enjoyed the official state dinner on a Bushtracks Steam Safari. The two presidents, along with first lady Mutinta Hakainde, and several other members of parliament boarded the train and travelled to the Victoria Falls bridge, where they enjoyed the sunset views of the spray from the Falls and the gorge below. They then travelled through the national park and enjoyed a five star dinner onboard the Bushtracks train.

Bushtracks is incredibly delighted to have hosted the presidential parties for such an auspicious occasion, and after celebrating our 25th birthday as Bushtracks Africa, we set a record by pulling our longest train to date, which included all eight carriages.
