Dear Partners,

Fuel Surcharge

Over the last few months, the price of fuel has gone up by approximately 50%. Regional Air has been absorbing the increase in the hope that the trend will reverse. Unfortunately, with the happenings in Europe, the prices do not seem to be reversing thus we are left with no other recourse than share some of the increase with our passengers.

Effective 1st July, 2022, a fuel surcharge of USD 10 per sector will be added to all 2022 tickets. This surcharge will affect all bookings for travel from 1st July, 2022.

Tickets already issued before this communication (23rd June, 2022) will not attract the surcharge.

Zanzibar Terminal Relocation

Effective 23rd May, 2022 all operations in the existing Zanzibar Domestic Lounge are being transferred to the New Domestic Lounge in Terminal 2. This move is expected to create a better experience for clients. All check-in and domestic departures will be done at this terminal.

Baggage Policy

As the high season fast approaches, we would like to remind our partners of our baggage policy as this will ensure no luggage is left behind. On the safari routes we allow 15kilos per person in SOFT BAGS inclusive of hand luggage and 23kilos per person from Arusha to Zanzibar/Dar es Salaam and vice versa.

In case the clients have additional luggage then a freight seat can be purchased at the child rate and it allows up to 70kilos of luggage which must be in soft bags as well.

The freight seat option is available on all routes. Excess luggage is charged at $3 per kilo and is carried on space availability.

Serengeti – Zanzibar Direct Flights

We resume our direct flights from Serengeti to Zanzibar from 15th June – 15th September, 2022. This flight allows clients to have a hot lunch in Zanzibar. The direct flight is not applicable to passengers originating from Lake Manyara and Kuro to Zanzibar and Dar es Salaam.

Inducement Flights

The routes Kilimanjaro/Arusha to Lake Manyara and Serengeti will continue to operate as inducement flights. The good news is we’ve reviewed the inducement passenger numbers to 4 instead of 8. All individual bookings will be made with the minimum inducement number. A day before travel, we will review the flight and amend bookings accordingly if inducement numbers have been met.
