Wayo Africa, whose heartland has always been in developing immersive, activity-focused, sustainable safaris, is delighted to confirm that they will be maintaining their current portfolio of camps in northern Tanzania. In partnership with Wilderness Safaris, Wayo will be upgrading their existing camps and safari experiences over the next 18 months.

Wayo Africa are committed to maintaining their offering at an affordable upper mid-range price point. To honour this commitment, rates for 2023 will remain the same as 2022 with their camps.

Founder of Wayo Africa, Jean du Plessis commented;

 “With the support of Wilderness Safaris, we are embarking on a substantial upgrade of our existing range of Wayo camps in Manyara and the Serengeti. Keeping true to our passion for ensuring a light footprint environmentally, we will be enhancing the guest experience in order to make their journeys with us even more stylish and comfortable as well as continue to cater for the upper mid-range safari customers who are budget conscious but uncompromising on experience. We are committed to ensuring that our partnership with Wilderness Safaris will have a positive impact on tourism as a whole in Tanzania as we continue to work hard towards our ambitious sustainability goals.”

Camp upgrades will be in transition from August 2022 with all upgrades effective from the end of 2023. Upgrades will not impact customer experience during this period and will be conducted sensitively.
