The long wait is over!

We are happy to announce that we are now open and ready to welcome you back in the heart of Tsavo after a 2 month closure for various renovations to improve the experience for our guests. We can’t wait to share more of our enhanced and improved Resort.

What has changed?

The renovation of the resort involved new plumbing system, soft furnishing upgrades in all the guest rooms and new modern guest bathrooms including new rain showers. An interior makeover across the entire property including the central area, a bespoke new look for each room, complete with new soft furnishings to create a relaxing space and environment for the guests.

Activities

Our guests can dip in the swimming pool overlooking the sanctuary , relax in comfort in this private oasis, enjoy a massage at the spa or sip a cocktail at the bar, listening to the sounds of the many species of bird who call the Taita sanctuary home. The manicured gardens overlooking the Bura Hills is the best place for outdoor event be it a union of two hearts, a celebration or a team building event. We can curate the perfect event with our highly skilled team of event planners.

Taita Hills Safari Resort & Spa is uniquely designed Heritage-built German fortress design relating back to the World War 1 era. The resort has curated and developed the first World War 1 Museum that displays various stories and artifacts from that era of Kenya’s history that took place in and around the Sanctuary and Taita Hills region. The Resort alongside top local historians has developed various tours related to battlefield tourism with monuments within and around the sanctuary. Whether it is just a short glimpse into the history or a longer more immersive experience we can tailor the activity specifically for you.

Beyond the historical aspect of the region, the sanctuary offers an immersive experience from game drives by day or night, plant a tree at the reforestation site, visit a local community to learnmroe about the cultures and traditions of the local Taita people or enjoy a sundowner on top of Kudu Point with its panoramic views of Tsavo and towards Mt Kilimanjaro.

Location:

The resort is located at the main entrance to the Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary in South Eastern Kenya, 400 km from Nairobi and 200 km from Mombasa. An hour flight from Nairobi or 30 min from Mombasa by private charter lands at the sanctuary’s own private airstrip. The sanctuary is a 3-hour drive from Mombasa and a 6-hour drive from Nairobi on tarmac roads. Why not consider taking the Madaraka Express train from Nairobi or Mombasa to Voi Station. The sanctuary is located only 30 minutes’ drive via a tarmac road from the station.
