High above the floor of Africa’s Great Rift Valley – and balanced on its rim – lies a beautiful piece of land that overlooks what many safari travellers deem the loveliest game reserve on the continent, Kenya’s Maasai Mara. This is a place where everything is just as it ought to be. The sky melts into the endless plains in a vista so wide, it takes your breath away. Welcome to Angama Mara, a remarkable lodge overlooking the Mara Triangle. Inspired by the Swahili word for ‘suspended in mid air’, Angama Mara seems to float way up above the Maasai Mara where, every morning, hot air balloons sail past the 10-metre-wide floor-to-ceiling glass fronts of each tented suite.

Our Commitment to Responsible TourismThrough a nominal contribution of $10 per guest per night to the Angama Foundation, The Angama Foundation’s objective is to maximize the benefit of a successful Angama Mara to the stakeholders of the area in which the lodge operates. Projects will be identified in conjunction with needful parties, and specific initiatives will be preferred rather than donations to a fund. The Foundation plans to achieve this primarily through three fields of work: Education, Healthcare and Conservation.
