Our Commitment to Responsible Tourism

Since 1985, Cheli & Peacock has been developing environmentally-friendly safaris and eco-camps in Kenya, and more recently, in Tanzania, with a focus on lesser-visited areas of significant biodiversity that have faced poaching and lack of resources. With 70% of Kenya’s wildlife roaming outside of protected areas, we work with local communities to support wildlife conservation by providing economic benefits through bednight levies, leasing agreements and education initiatives. Supporting AMREF Flying Doctors for over 30 years, Cheli & Peacock registers every safari guest with AMREF, not only in the interests of our clients well being, but also to support the community healthcare that AMREF is a big part of. The AMREF Health Africa Clinical Outreach Programme was established in 1957 working with communities in both remote regions and inner city slums; providing support and essential medical and surgical services. For every bednight sold, Cheli & Peacock Safaris is proud to donate $1 to the Land & Life Foundation to cover operational and management costs. Formerly the Cheli & Peacock Community Trust, The Land & Life Foundation is the charitable face of Cheli & Peacock Safaris, the Elewana Collections as well as our sister conservation organisation in Thailand; The Golden Triangle Asian Elephant Foundation and Minor International. The Land & Life Foundation is committed to creating a sustainable future where communities and wildlife thrive together across conservation areas.
