Camp Zebra

‘Camp Zebra’ is named after the Zebra which follow the Wildebeest during their
world famous annual migration. Like the animal it is named after, the camp follows
the migration between the Northern, Central and Southern parts of the Serengeti
National Park, according to where the Wildebeest are to be found. Camp Zebra is
closed from the beginning of April till the end of June during which period you can
still book a private and exclusive ‘Intimate Camp’ anywhere you desire.

1st June till 15th July – Central Serengeti
16th July till 31st October – Northern Serengeti
1st November till 15th December – Central Serengeti
16th December till 31st March – Ndutu area

Please note that these dates may vary slightly according to the actual movements of the Wildebeest herds.

Our Commitment to Responsible Tourism

In the 12 years since Intimate Places first started trading, corporate social responsibility has become increasingly important, particularly in developing countries such as Tanzania.

Through a process of learning, our company has developed a policy which we feel works well not only for us, but also for the environments in which we operate. The central theme to this policy is one of sustainability. It is our aim to make a long-lasting positive impact on our surroundings, on the communities in which we operate and on the economy of Tanzania in general.

All new accommodation tents for Camp Zebra, Tanzania

2019 marks two very important milestones for ‘Intimate Places.’ The first is that it is 15 years since we first opened our doors for business on the 1st April 2004. The second is that it is 10 years since we started operating luxury mobile camps. Our very first camp booking was on the 2nd January 2009. As you will appreciate, we have learned a great deal about mobile camping since those early days and we have now brought that knowledge to bear in the creation of all new accommodation tents for Camp Zebra.

Intimate Places embraces the "Throttle the Bottle" initiative

Possibly the single most significant threat to our environment this century is the prolific use of throwaway plastic bottles. These bottles are used to sell mineral water as well as a range of soft drinks. They are non-biodegradable and when not properly disposed of can create mountains of garbage which last for centuries. These discarded bottles also leach toxins into the soil and often get eaten by animals, sometimes with disastrous consequences. “Throttle the Bottle” is one of a…
