Sell-out UK investment forum for Sierra Leone

Kamageo played its part in Sierra Leone’s investment forum in London last week, which attracted 150 more delegates than the 200 that had been anticipated. His Excellency, President Julius Maada Bio’s attendance clearly impacted on interest levels and his keynote speech certainly set the tone for the day. He revealed some of the significant new incentives being offered across numerous categories, especially within tourism. Senior government officials pledged their commitment to minimising red tape, ensuring speedy processing and providing full support for new tourism ventures across this fast developing nation.

Due to perceived client conflict, TANTOO initiative will end soon.

Whilst TANTOO (Tanzania Tourism Organisation) which was launched in mid-2018, is a private sector initiative and not a national tourist board account, it has been perceived by Uganda Tourism Board to be directly competitive to their work in the UK. Whilst obviously disappointed, Kamageo has been working for UTB since 2016 and has therefore accepted this decision. As a result, TANTOO will cease operations later this year.

Zimbabwe Tourism to screen exclusive premiere of Disney's Lion King

In London, on 19th July 2019, Disney releases their new CGI live action version of 'The Lion King', with ZIMTO (Zimbabwe Tourism Organisation) screening an exclusive premiere in the iconic Odeon Cinema, Leicester Square. Coordinated by Kamageo, the screening will give 150 people the first opportunity to see the movie. As Tim Henshall explained "Zimbabwe's return to prominence echoes the storyline of "Lion King", and at the same time one of Cecil’s descendants is now creating a pride of his own, too. London venue for Safari Roadshow is on The Thames

We're delighted to announce that the London venue for the Safari Roadshow will be aboard The Yacht London (www.theyachtlondon.com), which is moored at Victoria Embankment on the Thames.  The Safari Roadshow which is in London from Wednesday 27th February  - Friday 1st March will host different sessions for 40 exhibitors from Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Whilst Kamageo's Tim Henshall was keen to mention that "Buyers spaces are filling nicely, which is no surprise given the quality of the exhibitors", event organiser, Tracey Sutton insisted we emphasise "The Yacht is fully heated and there's plenty of space for all our meetings".

Safari Roadshow sells out

Kamageo is delighted to confirm that all available exhibitor places on the four-country UK Safari Roadshow have now sold out. The events which run from Monday 26th February through to Friday 1st March feature individual sessions for Zambia, Uganda, Tanzania and Tanzania.  Event coordinator, Tracey Sutton explained, "Whilst the first three countries were filled pre-Christmas, we didn't offer the Zimbabwe spaces until the New Year. So you can see the level of interest, as we have sold out already..with plenty more on our waiting list". The events take place in Manchester, Cirencester and Central London.

UK ad campaign launches for Tanzania

A print campaign has been launched for Tanzania this month, with the first full-page ad appearing in the December issue of BBC Wildlife. Tanzania Country Manager at Kamageo - Lisa Burton - explained that "The campaign highlights that Tanzania delivers the very same safari experiences that you dreamt of so excitedly as a child". The campaign uses the headline "Live out your wildest dreams" and is funded by TANTOO, the private sector initiative, launched by Kamageo earlier this year.

Uganda increases gorilla permits

Uganda has increased the QUANTITY of mountain gorilla permits available each day in Bwindi Impentrable Forest, whilst the PRICE stays the same! Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) has been inundated with permit requests as a result of significantly increased tourism to Uganda during 2018, so the completion of the habituation of the Katwe group (in Buhoma) and the Christmas group (in Nkuringo) couldn't have come at a better time.

After Batwate the Ugandan Mountain Gorilla wowed the crowds at last year's Destinations, his close relative, Rushenya (another silverback) will be doing likewise at this year's event, on and around the Uganda Tourism stand. Kamageo books Zambia Tourism as the first exhibitor at Wildlife & Safari Show

Kamageo has seized the initiative by booking the first exhibitor space at the Wildlife & Safari Show on behalf of the Zambia Marketing Group (a private sector tourism initiative). The new consumer show, which launches next September, will be held over 2 days in Harrogate in North Yorkshire. Safari Roadshow Dates Announced

Kamageo has confirmed the dates for next year’s week-long trade event – The Safari Roadshow – which will visit venues across the UK. Following the success of similar UK roadshows for Uganda and Zambia, as well as requests for opportunities from other countries, Kamageo has extended the event to incorporate four destinations in to one ‘mega-show’. Next February, the Safari Roadshow will visit Manchester, Cirencester and Central London for a series of two-day events. Each of the events will comprise of pre-arranged meetings in four country-specific sessions: Botswana, Zambia, Tanzania and Uganda.

Malawi Leads the Way in Animal Conservation

In one of the largest and most significant translocations in human history, African Park's conservation efforts bring the total number of elephants on the move in Malawi to 400.
