Ours is a business with a rich and deep history. Over a period of 50 years, Sense of Africa has become the largest destination management company in the southern hemisphere after organically building its own powerful African footprint. It has established infrastructures – including local offices, people, products and service providers - in each of its regions.
This, coupled with its consistently exceptional personal service to travel business partners in source markets around the globe, has supported the company’s goal to become Africa’s Leading Inbound Travel Brand, with a healthy track record and impeccable reputation.
With established homes and ‘boots on the ground’ in South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Kenya, Tanzania, Zanzibar and Uganda, both partners and clients are assured of a direct connection to each of the unique countries that make up this eclectic continent.
As our network extends further afield to include Ethiopia, Lesotho, Eswatini, Rwanda, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Madagascar and Mozambique (through our sister company, Sense of Oceans), we truly do have Africa covered.

Together with their partners, South African National Parks (SANParks), Trees for Tourism and more recently, the Endangered Wildlife Trust (EWT), Tourvest DMC offers travellers the opportunity to make a positive impact towards the sustainability of tourism in South Africa through their Green Seat product offering. The Green Seat is included in all the guided tours and can also be added to a tailored made itinerary on request. These accumulated funds are distributed 100% to accredited partners and are being used to buy and plant trees as part of a reforestation project near Gansbaai, as well as train and equip rangers to fight rhino poaching. The most recent addition to the Green Seat portfolio, EWT, rounds out contribution efforts towards a more sustainable South Africa, by adding community projects to develop disadvantaged communities. Now, with the purchase of a Green Seat guests travelling with Tourvest DMC will contribute towards creating EcoBricks which are currently being used at two primary schools outside of Johannesburg to demarcate vegetable gardens, play areas and build benches for the children to sit on during breaks. Green Seat purchases also now contribute towards EWT’s anti-poaching unit which trains Tourvest DMC’s adopted Conservation Canine’s, Fury and Pirate, to detect rhino horns, elephant ivory, firearms and ammunition. Guests receive a Green Seat Badge as a token of thanks from their tour guide or in their travel documentation pack. Green Seat Badges are handmade by African Home, a community project based in Cape Town which partners with local craftsmen to transform recycle waste materials into beautiful African décor and accessories.
