The Lodge is perched on the edge of the Oldonyo Keri Hills in the North Eastern part of Tanzania within the Loliondo District at Ololosokwan Village. It is located in a private concession which borders the Serengeti National Park.
There are 12 split-level luxury tents that can easily accommodate families, couples and solo travelers.
We can configure the rooms with singles, doubles, or triples.
Each tent is 50 square meters with a veranda that provides unobstructed views of Lobo Valley, a comfortable lounge area, a relaxing bedroom area and bathroom.
En-suite bathrooms are complete with a shower, double vanity, and hair dryer, along with sumptuous robes and towels. Hot water is available 24 hours per day. We also offer free Wi-Fi.
For those interested in a little exercise, we offer a complimentary workout basket in each room.
Room service and laundry services are available at no extra cost.
A diverse assortment of wildlife lives in the concession year-round and is visible throughout the lodge. Some resident animals include elephants, lions, giraffes, waterbucks, baboons, warthogs, bush babies, hyenas, zebras and impalas.
The Lodge has a unique and exquisitely furnished Guest Area which is comprised of a bar from which we serve a selection of fine wines and spirits, and a dining area where most breakfasts, lunches and dinners are served. There is a comfortable indoor lounge to relax, chat and enjoy the panoramic views. Outside the lodge is a large patio equipped with a firepit and comfy outdoor furniture which creates the perfect spot to enjoy a sunset drink or relax. The pool always offers a refreshing way to decompress after a long day of exciting game drives. Finally, there is a shaded area above the pool to sit under and enjoy the stunning views of the Lobo Valley.
There is a Gift Shop that features locally-made Maasai crafts of which proceeds return directly to the women of the village.
Off-road game drives in the private concession offer up-close animal sightings at all times of day.
Walking safaris allow guests to stretch their legs, see animals from a different perspective and learn about numerous plants used for medicinal purposes by the local Maasai.
TAASA has the benefit of driving in a private concession with no outside vehicles. Due to this, we are not confined by the rules and regulations found in the parks, therefore, our highly trained guiding team are the only ones allowed to provide game drives in this area. All game drives within the concession take place in TAASAs’ beautiful open game viewing vehicles, which provides a unique experience of wildlife viewing.
Game Drives are offered early in the morning and late in the evenings to see animals when they are most active. As we do not have restrictions on time, we are allowed to drive guests off-road at all hours of the day.
TAASA Lodge blends seamlessly into the environment and is a perfect family destination!
