Zambia new departure tax
The Airports Authority in Zambia have introduced a new "Development and Infrastructure" tax last week, applicable to all passengers flying out of Lusaka, Livingstone and Mfuwe airports and effective immediately.
For passengers taking domestic charter flights out of these 3 airports there will be an increase in the departure taxes that they pay from 58 Kwacha (about $11) to 85 Kwacha ($16). There will still be no departure taxes charged when flying out of bush strips such as those in the Lower Zambezi.
International Departure taxes for charters will now be 210 Kwacha (about $40).
