The Magical Kenya Travel Expo (MKTE) 8th-10th October 2014

The Magical Kenya Travel Expo (MKTE) is an annual, high profile international tourism exhibition organized by the Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) that attracts participation from both local and international trade partners as well as the Kenyan public. This year marks the 4th edition of this exhibition.

In 2013, over 150 travel agents and tour operators from 30 countries around the world were hosted to a mega familiarization trip and thereafter invited to interface with 98 local tourism industry partners in a two-day exhibition at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre, Nairobi. South Africa Tourism Board, Seychelles Tourism Board, India Tourism, Zimbabwe Tourism Authority and Burundi National Tourism Authority were among the international exhibitors in attendance. It is forecasted that there will be increased interest in the Expo from around the globe this year.
KTB’s expects to register a maximum of 120 exhibitors. These include tour operators, travel agencies, hotels, resorts and lodges, airlines, car hire and transportation companies, parastatals within the Ministry of EAC, Tourism and Commerce and other stakeholders in the travel industry including regional and international tourism boards. Exhibitors will be looking to provide greater visibility to their travel industry-related products/services to both an international and local audience and to generate new business for their individual companies.
KTB will invite over 150 hosted buyers from Kenya’s key source markets in Asia, Europe, the Americas, the Middle East and Africa to participate at the exhibition. The hosted buyers will be decision-makers from key tour operator companies based in the source markets to whom Kenya is appealing for continued support, loyalty, and a platform as an opportunity for the local trade to showcase value adding products for increased business growth. The hosted buyers will include companies that already sell Kenya, those that are keen on increasing their product range, and
those whom we need to reassure and instill confidence in the destination in order to continue promoting the destination to the consumers. Key trade media and influencers from the markets will be invited on select basis.
