Ethiopia and Kenya Join To Get Tourists To East Africa To Stay Longer

Ethiopia and Kenya are working together to increase the length of stay of tourists visiting East Africa, tourism officials say.

Having different tourist attractions, some of them world heritage sites, both countries believe that cooperation will help them to improve their tourism industries, says Ethiopia's State Minister of Tourism.

Since the two countries have different types of tourist attractions, increasing the length of stay of tourists can be more easily achieved. Most of Ethiopia's tourist destinations are cultural and spiritual, while Kenya is home for attractions displaying various aspects of nature.

Creating a system which will allow tourists to visit attractions in both countries within a single trip is important to improve the tourism sector and increase the length of stay of tourists in East Africa.
