Kenya in the Park 2015
Kenya in the Park is a brand new free event set to take place at the East London Rugby and Football Club from 11am to 8pm on 29th August 2015. The project has been set up by Malaika Dance Unique, Massai World Market and supported by Kenyans throughout the UK. The theme of this year’s event is ‘Celebrating Kenyan Culture, Pride and Networking’ and the organisers aim to provide a platform for Kenyans and friends of Kenya to network, regardless of their culture, ethnicity or background.
During Kenya in the Park, those attending will be able to join in with many different workshops, sample Kenyan cuisine and fun activities as well as meeting real Maasai Warriors! The event aims to attract more than 4,000 individuals in its first year and will look to continue Kenya in the Park as an annual celebration with the possibility to make it to other countries in the future.
The event will be on BBC Africa and live streamed by Kass London FM, allowing those in Kenya to listen in on the day. The Patrons for the event are Miss Elizabeth Kangethe, Former Mayor of Barking and Dagenham, Pauline Long from BenTV, Julius Mbaluto from Informer East Africa and BBC and Gulu Anand, owner of Brilliant restaurant.
