Firms unite to bring down cost of tourism products on offer in East Africa region

Tourism players in East Africa have committed to bringing down the cost of tourism products in the region to boost its attractiveness. This will be achieved through the commissioning of a price competitiveness survey, whose main aim will be to ensure uniformity of costs across the five countries. KZN/Maputo bridge to cut travel time

Africa’s largest suspension bridge and its link roads are under construction in Mozambique in a massive project by the Mozambican and Chinese governments. The bridge, which will cross Maputo Bay, will cut the driving time from the border with KwaZulu-Natal to Maputo by about four hours. The bridge would span 680m and stand 60m above sea level. The Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) says South Africa is now the greatest growing source market for tourist arrivals into Zimbabwe due to the increased visits by those visiting relatives and friends as well as for leisure. German airline Lufthansa announced that it will resume flights to Nairobi Kenya’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport after an 18-year absence on Oct. 25. Fastjet Partners With Emirates Airline For Tickets

Emirates Airline and African discount airline Fastjet have entered into an agreement that allows Emirates passengers to buy tickets on Fastjet's network across East and Southern Africa. Passengers flying with Fastjet will also be able to travel across Emirates’ network via Dubai.
