Investing a further £1million in the future of Africa
News from Tusk: Thanks to the considerable support we have already received worldwide this year, we are delighted to announce that our Trustees have just approved more than £1m in interim funding for our project partners in Africa. Your donations to the 25th Anniversary Appeal mean that we can provide more funding than ever before to some of our longest-standing partnerships. Through these, we continue to have considerable success in supporting communities, promoting education, and protecting wildlife, including some decisive local victories in the war on poaching.
We have also been able to invest in some exciting new partnerships including a project to protect critically endangered western lowland gorillas in one of their most important strongholds in Gabon. Tusk has also committed new support to the protection of the incredibly rare okapi, or “forest giraffe”, which is only found in the forests of DR Congo.
Further grants will be made at the end of the year, and so, if you have not yet had the chance to donate to our 25th Anniversary Appeal and would like to do so, please click here
