East African tourism to benefit from regional marketing platform
The East African Tourism Platform is expected to offer the region's tourism industry stakeholders an opportunity to jointly grow the sector in light of the introduction of the single tourist visa.
The launch of an East African Tourism Platform is expected to offer the region's tourism industry stakeholders an opportunity to jointly grow the sector in light of the introduction of the single tourist visa.
The platform has been launched as East Africa's economies fight hard to regain some ground in the value of their currencies and increasing tourist numbers by refining tourism products in the region is gaining prominence on the economic agenda.
Tourism sector actors in the region face the challenge of innovating to attract greater tourism numbers or risk facing decline. The platform seeks to help through formulating strategies aimed at segmenting key tourist destinations, offering competitive pricing, upgrading facilities and easing travel across the region's borders and airspace.
